2014 Kia Forte Koup | Review, Price, Interior, Exterior, Engine. – Welcome to Neocarsuv.Com, we will provide the latest information about the Kia Forte Koup. 2014 Kia Forte Koup is one brand new car from Kia that was released in 2014. We will also review about the price, interior, exterior and engine of the 2014 Kia Forte Koup.
Compact two-door coupes have become awfully rare. But Kia is sticking to the formula with the second generation of its Forte Koup, which it launched at the New York auto show. The new model follows the second-generation Forte sedan and hatchback to market and thus completes the revamp of the lineup. Its two-door body keeps the proportions of its predecessor, while exaggerating features such as the headlights and taillights.
Kia claims the Forte Koup’s styling is “European-inspired.” That may be true, but the fact is that it was actually conceived in the firm’s North American styling center in Irvine, California, and it will be sold chiefly in North America. The 2014 Forte Koup shares its front-end structure and styling with the Forte hatchback. This means that the upwardly twisting grille of the new sedan remains an aberration in the Kia lineup.
2014 Kia Forte Koup Release Date :
Meanwhile some rumors told that 2014 Kia Forte Koup release date will be in late this year. Pricing for the 2014 Koup hasn’t been revealed yet, and it’s hard to project the premium Kia might charge over the less-appealing outgoing model. Currently, the 2013 Forte Koup starts around $18,000 and tops out at about $21,000. Given Kia’s reputation for value, we don’t expect huge price increases for 2014. 2014 Kia Forte Koup Exterior :
The 2014 Kia Forte Koup SX offers sportier styling with 18-inch alloy wheels, LED taillights and dual chrome exhaust tailpipes. A slightly aggressive look is all courtesy of faux carbon-fiber trim pieces, a bigger front bumper, larger grille openings and gloss black grille inserts. The exterior definitely exudes the aura of aggression and sportiness that this high-output Forte deserves.
The entry-level EX wheels are 16-inch pieces wearing 205/55 rubber, and that trim also includes satellite radio, fog lights, LED daytime running lights, Bluetooth connectivity, Kia’s UVO system, a rearview camera, dual chrome exhaust pipes, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The turbocharged SX plays an even sportier tune, substituting in 18-inch wheels with 225/40 tires. It also packs a more aggressive front fascia, carbon-fiber-look exterior trim, and aluminum pedals. On both versions, Kia offers a high number of comfort-oriented options, including leather seats, heated front seats, a cooled driver’s seat, a 10-way powered driver’s seat, keyless entry and start, a heated steering wheel, and a navigation system. HID headlights and a sunroof are optional as well.
As with the Koup EX, standard features include UVO eServices with Rear Camera Display, Bluetooth wireless, SiriusXM satellite radio, LED lighting, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel–but adds 18-inch alloy wheels, dual chrome exhaust tips, and LED tail lights. Optional extras include HID headlights, dual-zone climate control, SmartKey with push-button start, 10-way power driver’s seat, and more.
2014 Kia Forte Koup Engine :
Like the five-door model, the Koup can be had with a choice of two four-cylinder engines. The standard powerplant, and mandatory in the EX trim level, is a naturally aspirated, direct-injected 2.0-liter four that makes 173 horsepower at 6500 rpm and 154 lb-ft of torque at a lofty 4700 rpm. If possible, we’d recommend you take the plunge for the the Forte Koup SX, which has a direct-injected 1.6-liter turbo in its holster. This powerplant, part of the Gamma engine family, serves up 195 lb-ft of torque from 1750 to 4500 rpm and produces 201 horsepower at 6000 rpm. A six-speed torque-converter automatic is the EX’s only option, and that gearbox can be fitted to the SX. But we know you’ll want the turbo with its standard six-speed manual. The turbocharged car also gets a set of upgraded brakes to go with its uprated engine.
The meal ticket for the Kia Forte Koup SX is its 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that features Kia’s Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI). The turbocharged engine pumps out a hefty 201 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 195 pound-feet of torque between the 1,750 and 4,500 rpm. The more powerful engine should give this sports coupe the feel of a tuner car. Although a 0-to-60 mph time has yet to be released, and top speed performance figures have not yet been released, this turbocharged Forte should hit 60 mph in the 6.5- to 7-second range.
