Kia’s high-value, family-oriented minivan is back, after being absent from the lineup for 2013. And while the 2014 Kia Sedona does pack some minor updates, it’s essentially the same second-generation van that we’ve seen since the 2006 model year.

Compared to the 2012 Sedona, the 2014 model gets a new grille, as well as new lighting, including standard fog lamps on both trims. New 17-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels are optional on the LX but standard on the EX. That said, the look is going to be familiar, and not all that much different inside or out compared to used Sedonas which leaves it as a plain-Jane outlier in a Kia lineup that’s otherwise been completely, fashionably redesigned in recent years.

With a basic design that dates all the way back to 2006, the Sedona isn’t exactly the freshest or the most polished model in its competitive set. Luckily for Kia, what makes a great minivan hasn’t changed over the years, and the Sedona still has what it takes to be a capable people-hauler.

Chief among the Sedona’s virtues is a roomy interior that can be configured to prioritize passenger capacity or cargo space. With all of its seats – which include second row captain’s chairs and a third row bench seat – in place, there’s ample room for seven passengers to sit in comfort, in addition to 32.2 cubic feet of cargo space.

2014 Kia Sedona Release Date :
Meanwhile some rumors told that 2014 Kia Sedona release date will be in late this year. Pricing starts at $25,900 for the base LX model with 16-inch wheels and a cloth interior, while upmarket EX vans with leather and 17-inch wheels command $30,900 both prices exclude $850 for destination. That’s sort of a bargain, considering that the segment-leading Honda Odyssey will run you something like $45,000 when fully decked out. We promise that we will update soon after Kia announces 2014 Kia Sedona price.

2014 Kia Sedona Interior :
The LX base model comes standard with A/C, full power accessories, remote keyless entry, an AM/FM/CD/SiriusXM stereo system with Aux and USB inputs, Bluetooth connectivity, and sonar-based rear parking aid.

An available Power Package spruces up the LX with power sliding doors, automatic light control, 17-inch alloy wheels and an auto-diming mirror with backup display and HomeLink.

The EX ups the feature quotient with leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, heated exterior mirrors, an upgraded sound system, a rearview camera, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, power rear-quarter windows, an auto-dimming rear mirror with HomeLink, a trip computer with a compass and a roof rack.

The 2014 Kia Sedona is a minivan with seating for seven passengers. It’s available in two trim levels, LX and EX. The entry-level LX comes equipped with 16-inch steel wheels, foglights, rear privacy glass, roof rack rails, rear parking sensors, air-conditioning with rear controls, a 60/40-split third-row seat, keyless entry, cruise control, a tilt-only steering wheel, Bluetooth phone connectivity and a six-speaker sound system with a CD player, satellite radio, a USB port and an auxiliary audio jack.

2014 Kia Sedona Exterior :
That’s not to say there haven’t been a couple of delightfully refreshed bits thrown into the new package. For starters, the Sedona wears a slightly updated schnoz with a redesigned grille, LED positioning lamps and standard foglamps inside the reworked lower fascia. (If we’re honest, the Kia looks a bit Ford Windstar-ish from the front three-quarter angle.) There’s a new 17-inch wheel design for the 2014 model year, and aside from a couple enhancements to the interior in terms of storage, that short list rounds out the full extent of the new updates.

The third-row bench seat is split 60/40, and each section can fold flush into a well in the floor. With both stowed away, there’s room for 80.1 cubic feet of gear. Moving up to the second row, both captain’s chairs can fold forward to provide easy access to the rearmost seats. Unlike some rival models, which feature second-row seats that can fold into the floor, the Sedona’s captain’s chairs must be carried out of the minivan to unlock the maximum 141.5 cubes of cargo space.

Up front, the Sedona’s dashboard is a bit dated, and the materials aren’t quite as upscale as those of many newer minivans. Still, the controls are well-placed and easy to operate, and there are numerous cupholders and storage nooks.

2014 Kia Sedona Engine :
Powering the 2014 Kia Sedona is a 3.5-liter V6 that makes 269 horsepower and 246 pound-feet of torque. It sends its power to the front wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission. EPA fuel economy estimates are 17 city, 24 highway and 20 combined mpg, which are a bit less than those of the Odyssey and Sienna.
