Jaguar C-X75 | Review, Price, Interior, Exterior, Engine. – Jaguar C-X75 is a plug-in hybrid, two-seat, concept car from Jaguar which debuted at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. The C-X75 produces 778 horsepower through four electric motors, each of which drives one of the four wheels. The batteries driving these motors are recharged using two diesel fed micro gas turbines instead of a conventional four stroke engine. It is described as an ideas model that will influence future design and technology.

In May 2011 Jaguar announced plans to build a limited production of the Jaguar C-X75, with a downsized, boosted petrol engine instead of the micro gas turbines in the concept, from 2013 until 2015. The plug-in hybrid supercar will be priced at between GB£700,000 – GB£900,000 (US$1.15 – US$1.48 million) depending on local market and taxes. A maximum of 250 cars will be built in partnership with Formula One team Williams F1. The production version will have an all-electric range of 50 km (30 mi).

Another is that, if it’s given the final nod for production in 2014, it will cost a million quid. It’s four wheel drive, with the rear wheels driven by that engine, plus an electric motor, both channelled through a lightweight seven speed box. The front wheels have their own single speed electric drive. The total power of those electric motors is around 400bhp. That’s in addition to the petrol engine. The battery is capable of delivering a quarter of a megawatt for a short full bore burst. All of which means performance that’s smacking of gob. Here are the numbers: 0-60mph in less than three seconds, and 0-100mph in less than six. Top speed is 200mph plus.

Jaguar C-X75 Interior and Exterior :
Jaguar C-X75 Interior and Exterior. – Project C-X75 will be the ultimate expression of Jaguar design and engineering innovation. This high performance hybrid supercar will stay true to the initial concept design study, while fulfilling requirements that allow it to be homologated for road use.

“We were always determined that the Project Jaguar C-X75 would be as striking on the road as it was in concept form,” said Jaguar’s design director Ian Callum. “This will be one of the finest looking Jaguar’s ever produced. We have to make changes to bring this car to the market, but I know it will retain all the visual impact of the original concept car.” Jaguar believes that a direct technology transfer between elite motorsport and road-going production cars is essential for the C-X75 to be as successful as it should be and the lightweight, rigidly strong structure of the production model attests to that.

Engineers did come across a few problems when modifying the concept to production form. The Williams F1 team had to do some extensive aerodynamic work on the body of the vehicle to make sure it could produce enough downforce to travel upside down at 120 mph. The engineers calculated that the C-X75 needed 1.562 square meters of air intake much more than the car’s front end had. These aerodynamic requirements changed the design a little, says Jaguar’s global brand director Adrian Hallmark, with the C-X75 “looking more like a sculpture than a car, and more beautiful.” British company, Alfred Dunhill, ltd. has created an exclusive video which explains the exclusive connection between the C-X75 and the legendary XJ13 prototype.

Jaguar C-X75 Engine :
Jaguar C-X75 Engine. – “The engine’s compact size allows it to be mounted low in the car for optimum weight distribution and to retain the concept’s stunning silhouette. This will make the Jaguar C-X75 a bona fide hybrid supercar capable of silent electric running with an extensive EV range in excess of 50km,” explained Bob Joyce, Group Engineering Director, Jaguar Land Rover.

At a press gathering at Jaguar’s test facility in Gaydon, England in July 2012, the company announced that the production version C-X75 would be like no other supercar. Its four-cylinder engine will feature a displacement of just 1.6 liter, but the output will go up to an impressive 500 HP at an amazing 10,000 rpm. In order to develop such an amazing output, the engine will be equipped with direct fuel injection, supercharging, and turbocharging. The engine will be mated to a seven speed single clutch transmission and will either send its power to the rear wheels, or will generate power for the lithium-ion battery pack. The supercar will offer two driving modes: all electric and hybrid. In electric mode, it will deliver an autonomy of 37 miles and in hybrid mode, it will go from 0 to 60 mph in just 3 seconds and up to a top speed of 200 mph.

The micro gas turbines from Bladon Jets generate enough electricity to extend the range of the car to 900 km (559 mi) while producing 28 grams of CO2 per kilometre on the EU test cycle. While running solely on battery power, the C-X75 has an all electric range of 110 km (68 mi).[3][6] Among other advantages, the micro turbines used in the C-X75 can be run on a range of fuels including diesel, biofuels, compressed natural gas and liquid petroleum gas. The 15kWh lithium ion battery pack weighs 185 kilograms (410 lb). Jaguar estimates an average carbon emission of 28 g/km on European test cycle, however, the carbon emission is around 150g/km if the turbines are running. Source:,,
