2014 GMC Sierra | Review, Price, Interior, Exterior, Engine. – For 2014 the GMC Sierra will be back with the 1500, 2500HD and 3500HD models. Full size trucks are becoming more efficient and more powerful, and the Sierra will be no different. Bold styling and more utility are going to help keep the 2014 GMC Sierra competitive. As the economy rebounds sales of trucks should increase allowing Detroit to invest more into these workhorses, giving consumers more choices and value. Unlike the SUV segment, the 2014 GMC will remain body on frame construction.
The 2014 Sierra 1500, as veiled as it is, appears to build on the looks of the current generation model, with at least three cross bars lining across the grille. The grille itself also appears to be narrower and more upright than the stretched-out single-bar look of the Silverado. The headlamp design is a complete mystery for both trucks.
Under the hood, expect GM’s new line of aluminum small-block V8 engines, featuring necessities like direct injection and cylinder deactivation. Also expect V6 engines, which we believe to be a familiar 3.6L block and a new turbocharged 3.6L mill to combat Ford’s EcoBoost V6 engine. Those hoping for a diesel half ton truck from GM… have fun hoping. Because there are no plans for one in the near future. However, a new hybrid truck is in the works, as is an eight speed transmission, but PickupTrucks.com reports that neither will show up at the launch of either the 2014 Sierra or Silverado, which is slated for as early as April of next year.
